Dr. Victoria Karshner

Dr. Victoria Karshner

Medical Director

Dr. Victoria Karshner brings 29 years of experience across a variety of clinical settings, including general practice, surgery, emergency, and urgent care. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Karshner’s journey into veterinary medicine began at just seven years old, driven by a deep love of animals and a natural instinct to care for strays in her neighborhood. That early compassion set the foundation for a lifelong career dedicated to helping animals thrive. Her professional interests include ophthalmology, surgery, and urgent care, and she is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care to both pets and their people.

Outside of her work, Dr. Karshner enjoys spending time outdoors with her family hiking, mountain biking, or relaxing by the lake with their energetic Doberman.

Clemons

Dr. Clemons, DVM

Small Animal

Dr. Eric Clemons has lived in a couple of different states but grew up mostly in Fort Worth, TX. He obtained both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees from Texas A&M University. Dr. Clemons started in mixed practice in South Texas before moving to Austin to focus on small animal exclusive practice. Most of his time in Austin was spent practicing at a 24-hour hospital that managed routine and emergency cases. He has particular interests in dentistry as well as radiology.

Dr. Clemons is excited to be starting a new adventure here in North Idaho. He and his wife love the outdoors and have three kids. In his free time, Dr. Clemons enjoys building electric guitars and basses as well as mountain biking. The rest of the family includes a neurotic shepherd named Rocket, a happy-go-lucky hound mix named Willow, two cats, Tater Tot and George, and four chickens.

Blum

Dr. Blum, DVM

Small Animal

Dr. Kayla Blum graduated from the Oregon State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include dentistry as well as mixed animal practice, particularly working with small ruminants such as sheep or goats. Dr. Blum is passionate about educating clients with the knowledge they need to make the best decision for their pets, inside and outside the clinic. Dr. Blum grew up in Idaho but moved to Oregon for vet school. She has three pets of her own: a cat named Rue, a Dane/Lab mix named Bucky, and a Collie/Lab mix named Luna. When not caring for pets, Dr. Blum enjoys any outdoor activity, including hiking and camping. She also enjoys getting to be creative through painting.

Dr. McReynolds, DVM

Small and Exotic Animal

Dr. Ceina McReynolds earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Queensland and has over five years of experience in mixed animal practice. She has special interests in surgery and exotic animal care.

Dr. McReynolds was drawn to veterinary medicine by her lifelong love of animals and finds great fulfillment in helping pets live healthier, happier lives. She especially enjoys partnering with pet owners to navigate their companions’ care and develop treatment plans that support their long-term well-being.

Outside of work, Dr. McReynolds focuses on raising her two young sons and enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband and their two dogs. She also loves reading when time allows.

Dr. Amy Scharf

Dr. Scharf , DVM

Dr. Amy Scharf earned their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. She also holds a Master of Science in Veterinary Science and a Master of Biomedical Science in Assisted Reproductive Technology. She is Fear Free Certified, reflecting her commitment to creating low-stress veterinary visits for pets, and has professional interests in preventive medicine, exotic animal medicine, dentistry, and ultrasonography.

Dr. Scharf was inspired to pursue veterinary medicine by a lifelong love of science and animals, appreciating how the profession combines problem solving, lifelong learning, and compassionate care. She believes veterinary medicine works best as a partnership and encourages pet owners to share any changes they notice at home, knowing that open communication can make a meaningful difference in their pet’s care.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Scharf enjoys spending time with her dog, gardening, exploring the outdoors, and practicing Norwegian folk art painting. She also enjoys learning about exotic animals and is always eager to meet a new animal
